MC El Brasil Santa Ana (Liga MB) tabbed 28-year old Colombian international forward Michael Hinestroza Javes (208-108kg-90, college: UALR). It is actually his comeback to Santa Ana as he has played here before. Hinestroza Javes has a double citizenship as he also holds Venezuelan passport. He played recently at Portoviejo in Ecuadorian National League. He missed last season and had one year break from professional basketball.
Among other achievements Hinestroza Javes' team won Colombian LPB-1 Regular Season in 2017. He received also Latinbasket.com All-El Salvador Liga Mayor Torneo Apertura 2nd Team award in 2017.
Hinestroza Javes represented Colombia at the South American Championships in Caracas (Venezuela) two years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 3.6ppg, 5.6rpg, 1.2spg.
Hinestroza Javes has played also professionally in Colombia (Patriotas, Academia, Fast Break, Caciques and Astros), Venezuela (Acereros) and El Salvador (ExSAL Santa Tecla and Isidro Metapan).
He attended University of Arkansas at Little Rock until 2013 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into Hinestroza Javes' outlook: A defensive skilled center, with good size and arm lenght to be an intimidator in the paint, good rebounder and shot blocker, good quickness to switch in the screens and guard smaller players, his ofenssive skills are limited not a good shooter, does not has a hook shot or low post moves but can run well in the open court and is a good finisher around the rim.
