Colombian LBP round 5 best performance: Javier Bautista

Javier Bautista had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Motilones del Norte, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The player had a double-double of 28 points and 16 rebounds, while his team beat Capitanes (#4, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 81-71. Motilones was forced-out from the top positions in Colombian LBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Motilones will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Bautista had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Motilones' top player in his first season with the team. Javier Bautista has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.0ppg), rebounds (5th best: 10.3rpg) and averages impressive 4.0spg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Jim James (190-SF-2002) of Caribbean Storm Islands. James had a very good evening with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Storm lost that game 79-90 to Conferencia B's leader Paisas (#1, 6-0). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Conferencia B. Carrib.Storm still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. 6 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. James is one of the most experienced players at Carrib.Storm and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Daniel Sanchez (196-F-2004) of league's top team Caimanes del Llano. Sanchez scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Caimanes, leading his team to a 92-70 easy win against #3 ranked Piratas. Caimanes confirms their top position in Conferencia A. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Sanchez has a great season in Colombia. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.5rpg (9th best).
