Cimarrones de Choco the reigning champion of the Colombian profesional basketball is already in Barquisimeto - Venezuela ready to compete in the Southamerican League Semifinals.

Cimarrones will face in this tough group the powerfull Guaros de Lara, Aguada from Uruguay and Quilmes from Argentina.
Cimarrones is the third Colombian team that reaches the semifinal of a continental competition, Cucuta Norte and Caimanes de Barranquilla made it before, Edgar Moreno (190-G-81, college: UTEP) was part of the Cucuta Norte team by then.

For this semifinal Cimarrones added deepness to its roster, the dual citizenship forward Luis Almanza (196-F-91) and the Colombian pivot John Hernandez (207-C-84) joined the team, both are great additions, Hernandez is the true pivot that Cimarrones did not had in the first round, while Almanza versatility will take some pressure of Michael Jackson and Amir Carraway (198-G/F-91, college: Chico St.) shoulders, the Colombian champion is actually ready to play tonight in the group opener against Guaros.

Cimarrones Roster:

Edgar Moreno
Salomon Mosquera (179-PG-81)
Eleutherio Renteria (194-G/F-81)
Michael Mike Jackson (190-G-87)
Larry Cardona (186-F-90)
Amir Carraway
Jose Rodriguez (197-PF-94)
Luis Almanza
John Hernandez
Andres Bejarano
Duvan Hinestroza (183-PG)

Coach: Plinio Rosero

Asistant: Abimael Palacios (194-F)

The most likely starting five of Cimarrones could be: Edgar Moreno, Mike Jackson, Amir Carraway, Jose Rodriguez and John Hernandez , not big changes from the preliminary round and if the Cimarrones can run his style and play its dynamic defense will have chances to move forward.
