Business Lessons From the Basketball Court - Apr 17, 2018

Basketball teaches us more than just having a fun time on the court. For instance, did you know that you could learn some interesting business lessons from it all?

Sure, you could love the sport or even bet on it. In fact, we know plenty of people who try out online betting with 12Bet. Here is the thing though, while betting on your favorite sport or even playing it is a great idea, there is a lot more that you can get out from it. And we will take a look at just a few of those things.

The Top Business Lessons From the Basketball Court

Get to know the importance of Timing:

Timing is everything. Your business strategies need to come out at a time when there are the maximum numbers of visitors who are potential customers as well.

Measure your success easily:

You would know just how important it is to use analytics. In basketball, if you are to succeed, you would need to anticipate your opposition actions. And you can do it if you have studied your opposition team well and know just what they are offering up their sleeves. You need all these to be based solely on facts and not assumptions so analytics is really important if you are looking to win basketball matches.

Similarly, in business, you need access to the right analytical tools. Use it to track engagements, clicks and performance of your ad. Use the data for more specific targeting.

Rotate and renew:

If something isn't working out, you will need to change your strategy. If your opposition team is getting stronger or they are exploring a loophole in your defense, you would need to change your strategy soon so that you can do some damage control when there is still some time.

This isn't something that we are telling just for the purpose of your basketball game; it applies to your business model too.

Just because one ad campaign was successful, doesn't mean you have to follow the same formula every time. People are always looking for something new. Add a new twist and see how that works. Always keep your ads relevant to your target audience.

Know Just Why the Right Aesthetics is Important

It is not just about winning in basketball but also ensuring fair play and ensuring that you have people supporting you. Similarly, when it comes to business, you need to play with the right aesthetics to bring in your audience.

Visual appeal, for instance, is the most important factor influencing the buying decisions of consumers and the most persuasive one. Colors are a means of non-verbal communication among people. Every color is associated with a certain feeling and products are packaged using colors that can trigger that feeling in the consumer. It is not just about physical products - it applied to web pages as well.

Several websites have had an increase in conversions by changing the color schemes of the various elements on the page especially the decision making buttons like sign-up or buy.

Which basketball business lesson do you think is the most important here?
