There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Fast Break (8-4) in Montana on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Academia (6-6) 83-74. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. 24 personal fouls committed by Fast Break helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Simon Granados (182-93) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international power forward Divier Perez (201-89) who added 26 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American guard Kenny Brown (188-91, college: Ferris St.) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Fast Break's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Academia maintains second position with 6-6 record having just two points less than leader Warriors, which they share with Cimarrones. Fast Break lost third consecutive game. They still keep top place with four games lost. They share the position with Titanes.
Important game to mention about took place in Bogota. Second ranked Titanes (8-4) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Piratas (4-10) 88-86 on Sunday evening. The winners were led by American guard Michael Sneed (196-82, college: Texas Southern) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and Xavier Roberson supported him with 20 points and 5 assists. Even 28 points and 6 rebounds by Venezuelan swingman Morris Sierralta (190-87) did not help to save the game for Piratas. Titanes have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fast Break. Piratas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the third place with ten games lost.

The best player for the winners was Bail Wannah who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Lennin Lopez produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 16 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the guests. Sabios maintains fourth position with 4-8 record. Defending champion Cimarrones keep the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Academia.

Worth to mention a great performance of Jaelyn Johnson-Coston who helped to win the game recording 24 points. Warriors' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Warriors have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Newly promoted Warriors maintains first position with 10-2 record. Patriotas lost fourth consecutive game. Patriotas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the fourth place with eight games lost.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 8: Fast Break destroyed Academia on the opponent's court 94-66. Warriors managed to outperform Patriotas in a home game 80-73. Titanes recorded a loss to Piratas on the road 84-74.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 23 points and 9 rebounds by Jairo Mendoza of Piratas.



Sabios - Cimarrones 102-93

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Cimarrones (6-6) against fourth ranked Sabios (4-8) on Friday night. Visiting Cimarrones were defeated by Sabios in a tough game in Manizales 93-102. Sabios made 32-of-42 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game, while Cimarrones only scored nine points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was Bail Wannah (-93) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Ngafi Shey (-98) chipped in 26 points and 8 rebounds. Lennin Lopez (-91) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 16 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and Venezuelan point guard Emiro Hernandez (188-94) added 23 points respectively for the guests. Five Cimarrones players scored in double figures. Sabios maintains fourth position with 4-8 record. Defending champion Cimarrones keep the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Academia.
