There's not an old story behind the upcoming final of the 2018 PBD Championship; the Island of San Andres prepares to see its team playing the second professional final of their history while Barranquilla wants their Titans to bring back all the glory that the Caimanes left almost a quarter of century before.
But there's a recent story, Warriors and Titanes both seeded in the east conference saw their faces each other 4 times during the regular season with the Islanders ruling the confrontation winning 3 out of those 4 games.
There are links between the cities, Barranquilla is an usual stop in the life of many islanders that comes to study and many of them choose the city as a home, many players from San Andres and Providence has played college, amateur and professional basketball in Barranquilla team's, Randy Stephens, Jerry Bent, Tribin Gordon, Ethalson Bryant , 'Mongo' Sinclair just to name a few of them.
The Warriors had the best record during the regular season and are still undefeated at home, now for the post-season the team change its face with the arrival of Tremayne Johnson (203-F-89, college: E.Washington) and Reggie Burke boosting their rotation and adding power in the frontcourt and in the perimeter.
Titanes remains with the same roster, did not made any changes during the season and has growth as a team entering this finals.
Warriors record gives them the favouritism, their semifinal performance against the Academia was correct and helped the team to get their newcomers in rhythm.
Titanes surprised defeating the Fast Break and showed that despite the lack of size or deepness coming from their bench, this guys can play hard and smart.
For the final series Warriors looks deeper, Victor Hooker can extend their rotation up to 8 players, and has an useful size advantage in the frontcourt with John Hernandez (207-C-84) and Tremayne Johnson a couple that Titanes can not match.
Titanes has made the small ball its seal, Xavier Roberson (186-G-90, college: Our Lady Lake, agency: Haylett Sports) and Michael Sneed (196-G-82, college: Texas Southern) are their key players by far, while Troy Jones role has been important sacrificing himself in the paint against bigger players, but is Michael Sneed a true swing man his most important player.
In a clash between two teams that loves the open court to run, the one that can control the boards and avoid turn over the ball has the better chances to win.

Warriors keys:
Bring the ball inside to Hernandez and Johnson
Rule the boards.
Ball movement and patience against zone defense

Titanes Keys:

Close the zone
Avoid to get into foul problems early
Run the court.
