We bring you last week's top performances from Colombians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international power forward Juan Palacios (206-85, currently plays in France). He could not help Chalon/Saor (6-5) in their last game. Despite Palacios' very good performance Chalon/Saor lost 87-91 on the road to the higher-ranked (#5) Chalons-Reims. He was the top scorer with 17 points. Palacios also added 5 rebounds and 2 blocks in 33 minutes on the court. It was Chalon/Saor's third consecutive loss in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Palacios' first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season: 12.5ppg, 5.6rpg, 2.0apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 49.4%, 3FGP: 26.5% and FT: 88.0% in 11 games he played so far. Palacios has a dual citizenship: Colombian and Spanish. Former Guerreros de Bogota starter played for the Colombian senior national team one years ago.

Hanner Mosquera-Perea

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea (206-93, college: E.Tenn.St., currently plays in Poland). He was not able to help Rosa in their game against AZS Koszalin (1-7) in the Polish EBL. It was not Mosquera-Perea's best game last Saturday. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 11 minutes. Rosa was edged 78-75 in Koszalin by the one of league's weakest teams (#15) AZS Koszalin. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Mosquera-Perea's first year with the team. This season Mosquera-Perea averages: 4.4ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.1spg and FT: 46.7% in eight games. He is in the roster of the Colombian senior national team.

   #3. The Colombian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Jhan Paul Mejia (208-94, college: Charleston, currently plays in Spain). Mejia was not able to secure a victory for Quintanar (5-5) in their game against Estudio (3-6) in the Spanish EBA (fourth division). He did not beat the league record on Saturday evening. Mejia recorded only 2 points. The eighth-placed Quintanar (5-5) was defeated 79-74 at home by the lower-ranked Estudio (#12) in the Group B. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Mejia's first year with the team. His overall stats this season are: 9.9ppg, 5.6rpg, 2FGP: 61.9%(26-42), 3FGP: 29.0% and FT: 71.4%. Mejia is another player who holds two passports: Colombian and Spanish. He is also a member of the Colombian senior national team.

   #4. Point guard Hansel Atencia (178-97, currently plays in NAIA) led The Master's College, CA to an easy victory against the Trinity International University 91-73 in the NAIA in Saturday night's game. Atencia recorded 16 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists in 30 minutes. The The Master's College, CA has record this season. Atencia has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.0ppg, 3.7rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg in three games. Atencia has both Spanish and Colombian nationalities. He is also Colombian national team player.

   #1. Jaime Echenique (211-F/C, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Wichita St. to an easy victory against the Rice University crushing them 90-61 in the NCAA last Sunday. He scored 14 points. The Wichita State University has conference record this season. It's Echenique's first year with the team. This year Echenique averages: 9.2ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.3bpg.

   #2. Experienced Luis Julio (201-C-80, currently plays in Chile) could not help Aleman (6-6) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Julio's good performance the fourth-placed Aleman (6-6) was defeated 83-77 on the road by the higher-ranked CD Castro (#3) in the Conferencia Sur. He recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 17 rebounds. Julio also added 4 assists. It's Julio's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Julio averages: 15.1ppg, 9.1rpg, 2.5apg and 1.2spg. He has a dual citizenship: Colombian and Venezuelan.

   #3. Juan Cardenas (201-F-97, currently studies in the States) was not able to help the Bryant (0-0) in their game against the Brown University in the NCAA. Cardenas scored only 4 points and blocked 2 shots in 15 minutes. his team was crushed 84-60 at home by the Brown University. It's Cardenas' first season with the team. This year his overall stats are: 2.8ppg and 3.0rpg in five games he played so far.

Defending champion Titanes Barranquilla (LPB) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old Venezuelan international forward Elder Gimenez (186-91). He played last summer at Toros in Venezuelan LPB league. In 9 games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.2ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.0spg. Gimenez also played for Santa Tecla BC (Liga MB) in league where in 24 games he averaged remarkable 19.5ppg, 5.9rpg, 4.0apg and 1.6spg. Warriors - Titanes 74-79 Titanes celebrated LPB title. They overcame Warriors on the road in the fifth game of the championship series to conquer the trophy. Titanes made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game.
