Juan Pablo Cantero (ex Penarol) joins Fast Break

Fast Break Bogota (LPB) agreed terms with experienced 38-year old Argentinian point guard Juan Pablo Cantero (184-82). He is a dual citizen owning also Italian passport. Cantero played last season at Penarol in Argentinian La Liga. In 15 games he had 9.7ppg, 3.4rpg and 4.6apg (top 5) previous season. He was a member of Argentinian Senior National Team between 2009 and 2010.
Cantero is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Paraguay (San Jose and Olimpia), Portugal (Benfica), Italy (Sassari and Montecatiniterme) and Argentina (Atenas, Echague, Libertad Sunchales, La Union and Lanus).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won Paraguayan Metropolitan League Clausura championship title in 2019. Cantero was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Liga Sudamericana 2nd Team in 2018.
It's very possible he may end his playing career at Fast Break.
On Cantero: Has a tremendous offensive talent, but is too much discontinous. He is more a streak shooter who can win a game by himself when he is hot than the typical go-to player with great outside accuracy. Can spend time even at the PG, but has a better instinct is at the 2 position.
