Nick King claims Colombian LPB weekly honour- October 25, 2020
The 25-year old forward had the game-high 39 points adding seven rebounds for Trigrillos in his team's victory, helping them to crush Sabios (#7, 1-2) with 18-point margin 80-62. Trigrillos maintains the 6th position in Colombian LPB. Trigrillos is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-4 record. In the team's last game King had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Trigrillos' top player in his first season with the team. Nick King averages just after two games 26.0ppg and 6.0rpg. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 32-year old American center Donte Greene (208-C-88) of Storm. Greene impressed basketball fans with 36 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Storm lost that game 102-111 to slightly higher-ranked Condores (3-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Storm still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 3-3 record is not bad at all. Greene is a newcomer at Storm and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.7ppg (#7). He also registered 4.8 boards per game. The third best performed player last round was American Scott Cutley (197-PF-85) of second-ranked Team Cali. Cutley showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, sixteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Team Cali, leading his team to a 76-68 win against Piratas (#8, 0-4). Cutley has a great season in Colombia. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.3rpg (4th best) and assists with 3.3apg (9th best). Cutley attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Other top performing players last week: 4. Michaell Jackson (190-PF-87) of Team Cali - 29 points and 8 rebounds 5. Jackson Zapata (198-SF-85) of Bucaros - 20 points and 7 rebounds 6. Jamaal Smith (176-PG-85) of Trigrillos - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists 7. Tonny Trocha-Morelos (208-PF-94) of Titanes - 23 points and 9 rebounds 8. Anthony Young (200-C/F-89) of Bucaros - 22 points and 6 rebounds 9. Siaan Rojas (201-G/F-96) of Piratas - 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists 10. Malik Wineglass (203-C) of Condores - 21 points and 9 rebounds The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
