Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

LPB round 6 most important game was a victory of Storm over 6th ranked Trigrillos 84-81 on Saturday night. Storm made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Dominican forward Juan-Miguel Suero (196-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Donte Greene (208-88, college: Syracuse) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American point guard Jamaal Smith (176-85, college: N.Mexico) replied with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for Trigrillos. Storm (3-3) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Condores. Trigrillos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the sixth position with four games lost. Storm is looking forward to face Sabios (#7) in Manizales in the next round. Trigrillos will play on the road against Condores in Cundinamarca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Fifth ranked Bucaros (3-2) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging second-best Team Cali (3-2) 77-74 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Team Cali. American power forward Anthony Young (200-89, college: KWC) had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Adris De-Leon chipped in 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Scott Cutley (197-85, college: CS Fullerton) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. Bucaros moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Team Cali. Bucaros will play against bottom-ranked Piratas (#8) in Bogota in the next round where they are favorite. Team Cali will play on the road against the league's leader Titanes (#1) in Barranquilla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Condores (3-3) against seventh ranked Sabios (1-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Condores were defeated by Sabios in Manizales 95-83. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Condores. American players dominated the game. Jovonni Shuler notched a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort. Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by DeMarco Owens did not help to save the game for Condores. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Newly promoted Sabios maintains seventh position with 1-2 record. Condores at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Storm. Sabios will meet higher ranked Storm (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Condores will play against Trigrillos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
LPB top team - Titanes (6-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Piratas (0-5) in Bogota 85-73. The best player for the winners was Juan Palacios-Tello who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Undefeated Titanes have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record. Piratas at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Titanes' next round opponent will be Team Cali (#3), which may be the game of the day. Piratas will play against the league's second-placed Bucaros (#2) in Bucaramanga and hope to get finally their first victory.



Sabios - Condores 95-83

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Condores (3-3) against seventh ranked Sabios (1-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Condores were defeated by Sabios in Manizales 95-83. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Condores. Sabios made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Condores 47-36 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sabios made 8 blocks. American players dominated the game. Jovonni Shuler (198-87, college: SSU) notched a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and guard John Merchant (187-89, college: Dowling) supported him with 25 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Worth to mention Shuler played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by power forward DeMarco Owens (203-96, college: Montevallo) did not help to save the game for Condores. LPB top team - Titanes (6-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Piratas (0-5) in Bogota 85-73. They outrebounded Piratas 49-28 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Titanes players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Juan Palacios-Tello (206-85) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Dominican-Puerto Rican forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) who recorded 22 points and his fellow American import Parker Farris (195-94, college: Hawaii-Hilo) added 16 points respectively.
