Coby's double-double lands him Player of the Week award- May 21, 2021
He had a double-double of 32 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Piratas (#9, 3-6) 85-76. Sabios is placed at 7th position in Colombian league. Sabios is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-5 record. Coby just recently signed at Sabios, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Columbia University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Coby is in league's top in points (8th best: 19.3ppg), rebounds (4th best: 9.8rpg) and averages solid 1.6bpg and 54.9% FGP. Second best performed player last round was Jezreel De Jesus (185-G-91, agency: Interperformances) of Hurricanes. He is Puerto Rican guard in his first season at Hurricanes. In the last game De Jesus recorded impressive triple-double of 19 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. It was enough for Hurricanes to edge Team Cali (#10, 0-9) by 6 points 89-83. This victory allowed Hurricanes to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-5 record. De Jesus is one of the most experienced players at Hurricanes and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.4ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 4.4rpg and 5.7apg. Third place about best performers goes to guard Stedmon Dondre (G) of Team Cali (#10). Dondre got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds and six assists. Despite Dondre's great performance Team Cali lost 83-89 to slightly higher-ranked Hurricanes (#8, 4-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Team Cali can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 9 games. Too bad for Dondre he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Dondre has individually a great season in Colombia. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.6ppg (6th best). Other top performing players last week: 4.
