Team Cali - Carrib.Storm 59-78

Caribbean Storm outscored Team Cali for the second straight win. Storm outrebounded Team Cali 56-33 including a 23-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Team Cali's players. Argentinian forward Mariano Fierro (200-86) had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American center Ricardo Glenn (203-90, college: USC Upstate) chipped in 12 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Dominican forward Rich Polanco (203-97, college: S.Dakota) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and American guard John Merchant (187-89, college: Dowling) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Five Storm and four Team Cali players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Motilones nipped Tigrillos on the road to open 2-0 advantage. Motilones forced 21 Tigrillos turnovers. Strangely Tigrillos outrebounded Motilones 43-31 including 22 on the offensive glass. Dominican Yeison Colome (190-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Dominican point guard Richard Bautista (187-97) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Motilones' coach Hernan Laginestra used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Brazilian-Uruguayan center Hatila Passos (211-85, college: NM State) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American forward Jacob Calloway (202-96, college: SUU) added 19 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tigrillos. Cafeteros overcame Cimarrones to even things up at 1-1. Cafeteros forced 20 Cimarrones turnovers. American players dominated the game. Cafeteros' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
