What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game of round 5 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Corsarios (2-3) to fourth ranked Cafeteros (3-2) 104-91. Cafeteros dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Corsarios' 38. It was a great shooting night for Cafeteros especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. American guard Gerald Williams (190-1991, college: La Sierra) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import Jaelyn Johnson-Coston (198-1993, college: FMU) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Venezuelan swingman Luis Duarte (190-1994) responded with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cafeteros moved-up to third place. Corsarios at the other side keep the fifth position with three games lost.
Very significant was Bucaros' (#3) just 1-point road victory against 4th placed Storm 92-91. The former international guard Romario Roque (180-1998) nailed 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and Brandone Francis accounted for 21 points. Venezuelan swingman Kevin Nino (195-1991) came up with 28 points and 5 rebounds for Storm in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Bucaros (3-1) moved-up to second place. Storm at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost.
A very close game took place in Cali between Titanes and Team Cali. Leader Titanes (4-0) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked Team Cali (1-3). Titanes managed to escape with a 1-point win 83-82 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was Heissler Guillent who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Delroy James produced 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Team Cali's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Titanes have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 4-0 record. Loser Team Cali keeps the sixth position with three games lost.

In the last game of round 5 Titanes destroyed Tigrillos on the opponent's court 93-68.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 9 points and 6 rebounds by Ernesto Oglivie of Titanes.



Team Cali - Titanes 82-83

A very close game took place in Cali between Titanes and Team Cali. Leader Titanes (4-0) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked Team Cali (1-3). Titanes managed to escape with a 1-point win 83-82 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan point guard Heissler Guillent (186-1986) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Panamanian Ernesto Oglivie (203-1989) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. Four Titanes players scored in double figures. Guyanese-American center Delroy James (203-1987, college: URI, agency: Network Sports International) produced 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard John Merchant (187-1989, college: Dowling) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Team Cali's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Titanes have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 4-0 record. Loser Team Cali keeps the sixth position with three games lost.

Carrib.Storm - Bucaros 91-92

Very significant was Bucaros' (#3) just 1-point road victory against 4th placed Storm 92-91. Strangely Storm outrebounded Bucaros 41-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Romario Roque (180-1998) nailed 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and Dominican guard Brandone Francis (196-1994, college: Texas Tech) accounted for 21 points. Venezuelan swingman Kevin Nino (195-1991) came up with 28 points and 5 rebounds and Dominican Yeison Colome (190-1996) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Storm in the defeat. Four Storm players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Bucaros (3-1) moved-up to second place. Storm at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost.

Tigrillos - Titanes 68-93

Very expected game in Medellin where bottom-ranked Tigrillos (0-4) were crushed by leader Titanes (4-0) 93-68 on Saturday. Titanes shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Sebastian Valencia (200-1997) who scored 15 points. Guard Samuel Seoanes (185-2001) chipped in 15 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). The former international point guard Octavio Munoz (179-2001) produced 10 points and 5 assists and forward Andres Carmona (195-1997) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Four Tigrillos players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Titanes have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 4-0 record. Loser Tigrillos still closes the standings with four games lost.
