We bring you last week's top performances from Colombians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international power forward
Juan Palacios-Tello (206-1985, currently plays in Lithuania). He led
Jonava to a victory over the league outsider Prienai CBet (3-27)
100-84 in the Lithuanian LKL in Wednesday night's game.
Palacios-Tello was MVP of the game. He recorded 36 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 8 assists in 34 minutes on the court.
Jonavos CBet (16-13) is placed fourth in the LKL.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Palacios-Tello has relatively good stats this year: 13.4ppg, 7.9rpg, 2.9apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 48.1%, 3FGP: 22.9% and FT: 71.4% in 21 games he played so far.
He has a dual citizenship: Spanish and Colombian.
Former Guerreros de Bogota starter played for the Colombian senior national team year ago.
#2. Second place goes to former international forward
Andres Ibarguen (198-1996, college:
Angelo St., currently plays in Spain). Ibarguen could not help
Prat (10-21) to beat Granada (24-8).
He recorded 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
But Prat was defeated
89-75 on the road by the second-ranked Granada.
It was Prat's fourth consecutive loss in a row.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This season Ibarguen averages: 10.0ppg, 5.0rpg, 2FGP: 69.8%(74-106) and FT: 75.0%.
He played for the Colombian national team in 21.
#3. The Colombian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international point guard
Hansel Atencia (178-1997, college:
Master's, currently plays in Spain). Atencia was not able to help
Oviedo in their game against Palma (11-21) in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division).
He recorded 8 points in 27 minutes.
Oviedo lost
69-74 in S'Arenal to the much lower-ranked (#15) Palma.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important.
This year Atencia has relatively solid stats: 12.1ppg, 1.4rpg, 2.7apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 51.5%, 3FGP: 35.3% and FT: 85.2% in 12 games.
He is another player who holds two passports: Colombian and Spanish.
Former Titanes de Barranquilla starter played for the Colombian national team year ago.
#4. Power forward
Jhan Paul Mejia (208-1994, college:
Charleston, currently plays in Spain) contributed to
Quintanar's surprising victory against the fifth-ranked Nautico Tenerife (17-13)
90-89 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Saturday night's game.
Mejia recorded 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
Basket Globalcaja Quintanar (11-19) is placed 15th in Group B.
They ended the series of five consecutive loses.
The Regular Season already ended.
Mejia's overall stats this season are: 9.3ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1spg.
He has both Colombian and Spanish nationalities.

#5. Former international power forward
Michaell Jackson (190-1987, currently plays in El Salvador) was the main contributor in an
Santa Tecla's victory against one of league's weakest teams Chalchuapa (4-15) crushing them
120-94 in the Salvadorean Liga MB (second division) last Friday.
He was the best player in that game. Jackson recorded 39 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists in 33 minutes.
ITD Santa Tecla BC (11-5) is placed second in the Liga MB.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important.
Jackson has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 23.3ppg, 7.5rpg, 3.8apg and 2.6spg in 17 games.
