LPB Round 11: Bucaros lose to Titanes in the game between Top 4 teams

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Very significant was Titanes' (#1, 11-0) victory against second-ranked Bucaros (7-4) 92-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bucaros. They outrebounded Bucaros 46-29 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Venezuelan swingman Jesus Medina (188-1994) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Sebastian Valencia (200-1997) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Romario Roque (180-1998) responded with 20 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Titanes (11-0) have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 11 victories in a row. Bucaros at the other side keep the second position with four games lost. They share it with Cafeteros.
The game in Cartagena was also worth to mention about. 4th placed Team Cali (4-7) played at the court of fifth ranked Corsarios (5-7). Corsarios defeated Team Cali 84-71. It was an exceptional evening for Venezuelan Nelson Palacios (192-1992) who led the winners and scored 24 points. Lysander Ameen accounted for 20 points. American guard John Merchant (187-1989, college: Dowling) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for Team Cali in the defeat. Team Cali's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Corsarios moved-up to fourth place. Team Cali lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Carrib.Storm.
Sixth ranked Storm (4-7) beat at home 7th ranked Tigrillos (1-10) by 15 points 83-68, which is the biggest margin this round on Monday night. The best player for the winners was Luis Almanza who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds. Luis Escobar produced 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Storm moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Team Cali. Loser Tigrillos stay at the bottom position with ten games lost.



Carrib.Storm - Tigrillos 83-68

Sixth ranked Storm (4-7) beat at home 7th ranked Tigrillos (1-10) by 15 points 83-68, which is the biggest margin this round on Monday night. Storm made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Storm outrebounded Tigrillos 51-33 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international forward Luis Almanza (196-1991) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds. Venezuelan swingman Kevin Nino (195-1991) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Luis Escobar (186-1997) produced 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Andres Carmona (195-1997) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Storm moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Team Cali. Loser Tigrillos stay at the bottom position with ten games lost.
