Liga Wplay Round 3: Corsarios are upset by Bucaros

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game between Corsarios (2-3) and Bucaros (1-2) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Corsarios were defeated by Bucaros in Bucaramanga 82-71. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan swingman Kevin Nino (195-1991) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. American Jeremy Hollowell (203-1994, college: Georgia St.) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Troy Jones (201, college: TAMUK) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds.
The game in Cundinamarca was also worth to mention about. Piratas (3-1) played at the court of Condores (1-5). Piratas managed to secure a 8-point victory 86-78. It was a good game for American guard Tristan Jarrett (193, college: Jackson St.) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Jeremy Smith contributed with 21 points for the winners. American-Dominican point guard Michael Rodriguez (178-1994, college: SIU) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds for Condores. Condores' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
The game with biggest result difference took place in San Andres Island. Local Storm (3-3) beat Tigrillos (1-5) 90-72 on Friday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Andres Ibarguen who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Miguel Correa with 23 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

In the last game of round 3 Tigrillos were defeated by Carrib.Storm in San Andres Island 84-68.



Condores - Piratas 78-86

The game in Cundinamarca was also worth to mention about. Piratas (3-1) played at the court of Condores (1-5). Piratas managed to secure a 8-point victory 86-78. Piratas forced 19 Condores turnovers. Condores were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Tristan Jarrett (193, college: Jackson St.) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Jeremy Smith (180-1997, college: CSUSB) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Piratas players scored in double figures. American-Dominican point guard Michael Rodriguez (178-1994, college: SIU) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Michael Medina (-1999) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Condores. Condores' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

Carrib.Storm - Tigrillos 84-68

There was no surprise in San Andres Island where Tigrillos (1-5) were defeated by Storm (3-3) 84-68 on Thursday. It was a great evening for international forward Andres Ibarguen (200-1996, college: Angelo St., agency: Helping Ballers) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). International Michaell Jackson (190-1987) helped adding 12 points and 10 rebounds. Five Storm players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Puerto Rican Jorge Torres (196) with 21 points and 8 rebounds and forward Andres Jaimes (198-2004) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
