Andres Ibarguen claims Colombian Liga Wplay Hoops Agents weekly honour- October 2, 2022
The 26-year old forward had a double-double of 19 points and eleven rebounds, while his team crushed Tigrillos (#5, 1-5) with 18-point margin 90-72. Carrib.Storm maintains the 2nd position in their group in Colombian Liga Wplay. Carrib.Storm is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. Ibarguen turned to be Carrib.Storm's top player in his first season with the team. Angelo State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ibarguen is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 10.0rpg) and averages solid 63.2% FGP. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Venezuelan swingman Kevin Nino (195-F/G-1991) of Bucaros. Nino impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Bucaros cruised to a 82-71 relatively comfortable win over Corsarios (3-3). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Nino is a newcomer at Bucaros and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.0ppg (#5). He also registered 6.3 boards per game. The third best performed player last round was Puerto Rican Jorge Torres (196-PF) of Tigrillos (#5). Torres scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Torres' great performance Tigrillos lost 68-84 to Carrib.Storm (#2, 3-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Tigrillos can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group A. They have rather bad season and 1-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Torres has individually a great season in Colombia. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.0rpg (3rd best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Jhon Hernandez (208-C-1984) of Corsarios - 18 points and 9 rebounds 5. Michaell Jackson (190-PF-1987) of Carrib.Storm - 12 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists 6. Josimar Ayarza (205-PF-1987) of Carrib.Storm - 19 points and 7 rebounds 7. Tristan Jarrett (193-G) of Piratas - 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists 8. Troy Jones (201-F) of Corsarios - 22 points and 10 rebounds 9. Jeremy Smith (180-PG-1997) of Piratas - 21 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists 10. Miguel Correa (186-SG-1999) of Tigrillos - 23 points and 2 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues.
