The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Team Cali as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Team Cali smashed 4th placed Sabios at home 91-63. They outrebounded Sabios 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. Team Cali looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Dominican forward Jeromy Rodriguez (201-1996, college: ETSU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and American guard John Merchant (187-1989, college: Dowling) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Andres Mosquera (196-1994) responded with 6 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Team Cali have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Sabios lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Condores and Tigrillos.
