Jeremy Smith claims Colombian Liga Wplay Hoops Agents weekly honour- October 5, 2022
The 25-year old playmaker had the game-high 39 points adding five rebounds and four assists for Piratas in his team's victory, helping them to beat Cimarrones (#2, 5-3) 96-82. Piratas maintains the 3rd position in their group in Colombian Liga Wplay. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Piratas will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Smith had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Piratas' top player in his first season with the team. California State University San Bernardino graduate has very impressive stats this year. Smith is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.8ppg), assists (7th best: 3.7apg) and averages solid 50.0% from behind 3-point line. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American Jeremy Hollowell (203-SF-1994) of Bucaros. Hollowell impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Bucaros cruised to a 96-88 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Tigrillos (#5, 2-6). Bucaros' 4th position in Group A has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-4 record. Hollowell is a newcomer at Bucaros and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. The third best performed player last round was Argentinian Patricio Pinero (195-SF-1995) of Tigrillos (#5). Pinero got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . Despite Pinero's great performance Tigrillos lost 88-96 to slightly higher-ranked Bucaros (#4, 2-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Tigrillos can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group A. They have rather bad season and 2-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Pinero has individually a great season in Colombia. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.9ppg (4th best). He also has FGP: 63.0% and 3PT: 43.1%. Other top performing players last week: 4. Sebastian Valencia (200-F-1997) of Piratas - 16 points and 19 rebounds 5. Jorge Torres (196-PF) of Tigrillos - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists 6. Maolin Colina (190-SG-1990) of Bucaros - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists 7. Kevin Nino (195-F/G-1991) of Bucaros - 18 points and 2 rebounds 8. Lysander Bracey (193-G-1996) of Cimarrones - 21 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists 9. Trevor Manuel (207-PF) of Cimarrones - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists 10. Kenny Brown (188-G-1991) of Bucaros - 21 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
