Liga Wplay Round 1: Titanes cruise past Corsarios

The Regular Season in Liga WPlay just started. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Titanes smashed Corsarios in Barranquilla 90-43. Titanes dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Corsarios' 20. Titanes forced 20 Corsarios turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Corsarios' players. Italian-Argentinian forward Federico Aguerre (203-1988) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Argentinian point guard Juan Laterza (180-1997) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. At the losing side American Michael Ramey (194-1993, college: Southern Miss) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Bucaros' coach Jordan Barrios allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American Desmond Holloway (194-1990, college: Coastal, agency: Interperformances) came up with 26 points and 9 rebounds for Piratas in the defeat. Bucaros will again play against Piratas in Bogota in the next round. Piratas will have a break next round.
