Colombian LSBF round 5 best performance: Eshaya Murphy- June 1, 2023
The 37-year old player was the main contributor (21 points, seven rebounds and three assists) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Casanare (#4, 0-3) with 44-point margin 78-34. It allowed Bucaros to consolidate first place in the Colombian LSBF. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Bucaros already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Murphy had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. She just recently signed at Bucaros and just after two games she already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Eshaya Murphy averages just after two games 24.5ppg and 9.0rpg. The second best player in last round's games was young Angely Mendez (175-C-2000) of Caqueta. Mendez had a very good evening with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Caqueta was edged by Center's leader Bogota (#4, 1-0) 58-54. This loss caused Caqueta to drop to 5th position in Center. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Caqueta managed to get this year. Mendez is one of the most experienced players at Caqueta and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Third on the list of top players last round was another Caqueta's star - Mederith Venner. Venner scored 12 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Venner's great performance Caqueta lost 54-58 to the league's current leader Bogota (#4, 1-0). But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Venner has individually a great season in Colombia. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.3rpg (2nd best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Yuliany Paz (195-F-2000) of Indeportes - 12 points and 12 rebounds 5. Esther Palmera (F-2000) of Bucaros - 14 points and 9 rebounds 6. Juliana Castro (160-PG-2004) of Huila - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists 7. Carolina Raga) of Soacha - 14 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists 8. Stephany Mayo (180-F/C-1993) of Bucaros - 9 points and 10 rebounds 9. Wendy Coy (178-F/C-1998) of Guerreros - 13 points and 6 rebounds 10. Leidy Montano (173-F-2004) of Cundinamarca - 14 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
