Cafeteros de Armenia (Liga Wplay) signed experienced 36-year old Venezuelan ex-international forward Luis Bethelmy (200cm-1986) for upcoming 2024 season. Bethelmy played this summer at Cocodrilos in Venezuelan SPB league. In 33 games just recently he had 11.7ppg, 5.8rpg, 2.5apg and 1.4spg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. 2023-23 was a great season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan SPB Honorable Mention.
Bethelmy also represented Venezuela at the World Cup in China four years ago. His stats at that event were 4 games: 4.8ppg, 3.0rpg.
He is quite experienced player. Bethelmy has played also professionally in Argentina (Gimnasia), Mexico (Halcones Rojos, Jaguares and Libertadores), Puerto Rico, Uruguay (Defensor), Venezuela (Guaros de Lara 2nd team, Guaros, Yaracuyanos, Guacharos and Centauros), Dominican Republic (Indios) and Colombia (Guerreros). He won Liga Americas championship title in 2016 and 2017. Bethelmy was voted Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Most Improved Player of the Year back in 2008 and 2009.
