Liga WPlay 2023-II - Holloway is back at Piratas, ex 25 de Agosto

Piratas de Bogota (Liga Wplay) agreed terms with 33-year old American small forward Desmond Holloway (194cm-84kg-1990, college: Coastal, agency: Interperformances) for new 2024 season. It is actually his comeback to Piratas as he has played here before. Holloway played this summer at 25 de Agosto in Uruguayan Metropolitan. He managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year. In 6 Metropolitan games just recently he had very impressive stats: 20.8ppg, 8.3rpg, 3.3apg and 2.3spg. Holloway also played for Piratas in Colombian Liga Wplay where in 20 games he was the best scorer with remarkable 18.6ppg and averaged 5.8rpg, 2.0apg and 1.8spg (in top 4). He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. Quite impressive season as he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Colombian LPB Apertura Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and League Player of the Week (2 times).
Holloway is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Argentina (Ferro), Brazil (Vasco da Gama, Pinheiros, Paulistano, Sorocabana and Rio Claro), Mexico and PBL (Sauk Valley P.).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he played in the final of Brazilian National League in 2014. Holloway was also selected Latinbasket.com All-Brazilian League Player of the Year back in 2017.
He graduated from Coastal Carolina College in 2011 and it will be his 14th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season as a professional player. Holloway played also for Wabash Valley College for 2 years.
