Kylon Higgins claims Colombian Liga WPlay Hoops Agents weekly honour- October 1, 2023
The 30-year old guard had the game-high 41 points adding four rebounds and three assists for Sabios in his team's victory, helping them to beat Cimarrones (#12, 0-4), the league's bottom-ranked team 80-72. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory Sabios moved-up to the 9th position in Colombian Liga WPlay. Sabios is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-2 record. In the team's last game Higgins had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range and got eight three-pointers out of 13 attempts. He turned to be Sabios' top player in his first season with the team. Arkansas Tech University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Higgins is in league's top in points (5th best: 22.7ppg), assists (9th best: 3.0apg) and averages solid 51.7% from behind 3-point line. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Venezuelan forward Osbel Caraballo (196-F-1998) of Bucaros. Caraballo impressed basketball fans with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Of course he led Bucaros to another comfortable win outscoring Condores (0-3) 119-87. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Caraballo is a newcomer at Bucaros and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. The third best performed player last round was American Ray Kowalski (190-G-1996) of Condores (#11). Kowalski got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. Despite Kowalski's great performance Condores lost 87-119 to Bucaros (#10, 1-3). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Condores can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 3 games. Kowalski has individually a great season in Colombia. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.7ppg (4th best). Other top performing players last week: 4.
