Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most shocking disappointment of round 7 in the Liga WPlay was a home defeat of 3rd placed Team Cali (5-2) to fourth ranked Cafeteros (6-1) 77-73. It ended the three-game winning streak of Team Cali. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Octavio Munoz (179-2001) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Venezuelan forward Luis Bethelmy (200-1986) helped adding 17 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Team Cali's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cafeteros have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Carrib.Storm. Team Cali at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Cafeteros is looking forward to face Cimarrones (#8) in Quibdo-Choco in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Team Cali will play on the road against Storm in San Andres Island and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Liga WPlay top team - Titanes (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Motilones (4-4) in Barranquilla 112-90. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Motilones. It was a quality performance for Dominican-Puerto Rican swingman Jonathan Rodriguez (196-1987, college: Campbell) who led the winners and scored 32 points. Jhornan Zamora accounted for 20 points and 8 rebounds. Puerto Rican point guard Brandon Davis (190-1998) came up with 25 points for Motilones in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Titanes. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Motilones at the other side keep the sixth position with four games lost. Titanes will play against Bucaros (#7) in Bucaramanga in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Motilones will play at home against Piratas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Condores (0-7) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to seventh ranked Bucaros (3-5) 90-58 on Saturday evening. Osbel Caraballo fired 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Jerry Carter produced 16 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bucaros maintains seventh place with 3-5 record. Condores lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Bucaros will meet at home league's leader Titanes in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Condores will play against Corsarios (#9) and hope to get finally their first victory.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 7: Tigrillos lost to Carrib.Storm on the opponent's court 106-111. Piratas managed to outperform Corsarios in a home game 86-81. Sabios were rolled over Cimarrones on the road 85-65.

Carrib.Storm - Tigrillos 111-106

Very expected game in San Andres Island where 10th ranked Tigrillos (2-6) were defeated by second ranked Storm (6-1) 111-106 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Storm had a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international Luis Almanza (196-1991) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. American guard Gerald Williams (190-1991, college: La Sierra) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Tariq Christian (, agency: Perpetual Sports) produced 30 points and 4 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and Aaron Lewis added 23 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Storm maintains second place with 6-1 record having just three points less than leader Titanes, which they share with Cafeteros. Tigrillos lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with six games lost. Storm will meet at home Team Cali (#5) in the next round. Tigrillos will play against Sabios (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Piratas - Corsarios 86-81

Rather predictable result in Bogota where fourth ranked Piratas (6-2) defeated 8th ranked Corsarios (2-5) 86-81 on Friday.
