Gerardo Suero claims Colombian Liga WPlay Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced American-Dominican Rep. Gerardo Suero (196-SF-1989, agency: BMS Sport Agency) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Toros Del Valle and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 34-year old had a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Piratas (#7, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 79-73. Thanks to this victory Toros moved-up to the 3rd position in Colombian Liga WPlay. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Toros Del Valle won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Suero just recently signed at Toros and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. University at Albany graduate has very impressive stats this year. Suero is in league's top in points (7th best: 20.0ppg) and rebounds (5th best: 9.5rpg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was American swingman Jalen Brooks (196-G/F, agency: Players Group) of Corsarios Cartagena. Brooks impressed basketball fans with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Bad luck as Corsarios lost that game 77-82 to Motilones (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Brooks is one of the most experienced players at Corsarios and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.5ppg (#2). He also registered 6.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Jeremy Smith (180-PG-1997, agency: Diamond Sports) of Piratas de Bogota (#7). Smith showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. Despite Smith's great performance the Piratas lost 73-79 to Toros Del Valle (#3, 2-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Piratas can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 2 games. Smith has individually a great season in Colombia. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (4th best) and assists with 6.0apg (best passer).
