There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Liga Wplay. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most exciting game of round 7 in the Liga Wplay took place in Bogota. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of bottom-ranked Cimarrones (0-5) to sixth ranked Piratas (2-2) 70-68 on Sunday evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Piratas made 7 blocks. American point guard Jeremy Smith (180-1997, college: CSUSB, agency: Diamond Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) for the winners. Center Rodrigo Pena (-1997) chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds. American center Travion Leonard (203-1993, college: Barry, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Piratas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Titanes. Cimarrones at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Bottom-ranked Corsarios (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 81-67 loss to sixth ranked Bucaros (2-1) in Bucaramanga. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-1988, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 8 points and 15 rebounds. Sebastian Valencia contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Jalen Brooks (196, college: LSUS, agency: Players Group) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for Corsarios. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bucaros moved-up to fourth place. Corsarios at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Bucaros will again play against Corsarios (#7) in Cartagena in the next round. Corsarios will have a break next round.
The best stats of 7th round was 9 points and 9 rebounds by Cameron Burrell of Corsarios.
