Colombian Liga WPlay round 8 best performance: Romario Roque (by Hoops Agents)

International Guard Romario Roque (175-G-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Caribbean Storm Islands, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (40 points, five rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Toros Del Valle (#5, 2-2) 99-98. It allowed Storm to consolidate first place in the Colombian Liga WPlay. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Carrib.Storm already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Roque had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Storm, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Romario Roque has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 29.0ppg. Roque is in league's top in assists (8th best: 3.3apg) and averages impressive 61.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Panamanian Eugenio Luzcando Bocaz (190-PG-1995) of league's second-best Bucaros de Bucaramanga. Luzcando Bocaz had a very good evening with 27 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course Bucaros cruised to a 99-89 relatively comfortable win over Corsarios (#7, 0-4). This victory allowed Bucaros to move up to second position in the standings. His team's 3-1 record is not bad at all. Luzcando Bocaz is one of the most experienced players at Bucaros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Jalen Brooks (196-G/F, agency: Players Group) of Corsarios Cartagena (#7). Brooks showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. Despite Brooks' great performance the Corsarios lost 89-99 to the higher-ranked Bucaros (#2, 3-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Corsarios can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 4 games. Brooks has individually a great season in Colombia. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.3ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 8.3rpg (7th best).
