Chilean point guard Franco Morales (181-1992) stepped up and scored 28 points and 6 assists for the winners and swingman Cristian Solis (-2001) chipped in 12 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-1988, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Nathan Priddy (188-1999, college: Elon) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Dominican Diego Colon (188-2001, agency: BMS Sport Agency) nailed 32 points (made all of his seven free throws) for the winning side and Nicaraguan forward Josmel Martinez (198-1999, college: Broward CC, agency: BMS Sport Agency) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds. Motilones' coach Richard Ortega felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Jeremy Smith (180-1997, college: CSUSB, agency: Diamond Sports) came up with 29 points and the other American import power forward Jalen Dupree (205-1998, college: Tennessee St.) added 15 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Piratas in the defeat. Five Motilones and four Piratas players scored in double figures.
