Serna's 21 points and 9 rebounds give him Player of the Week award

23-year old power forward Santiago Serna (203-F/C-2001) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Piratas de Bogota and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had the game-high 21 points adding nine rebounds for Piratas in his team's victory, helping them to beat Motilones (#1, 5-1) 93-85. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory Piratas moved-up to the 4th position in Colombian league. Piratas is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Serna had a remarkable 53.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Piratas' top player in his first season with the team. Serna has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 7.0rpg) and averages solid 55.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Soren De Luque (200-PF-1998) of Toros Del Valle. He is international forward in his first season at Toros Del Valle. In the last game De Luque recorded an impressive double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Toros to another comfortable win 74-61 over Cimarrones (1-5) being unquestionably team leader. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. De Luque is a newcomer at Toros Del Valle and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Juan Rosario (203-F/C-1999, agency: BMS Sport Agency) of league's leader Motilones del Norte. Rosario scored 16 points and grabbed 20 rebounds (!!!). Despite Rosario's great performance the Motilones lost 85-93 to #4 ranked Piratas. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Motilones had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 1st lost game is hopefully really an accident. Rosario's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Rosario has a great season in Colombia. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.5ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 12.7rpg (2nd best). He also has 1.8bpg and a FGP of 69.1%.
