Liga Wplay Round 6 (Regular Season): Top-ranked Motilones win another game

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Liga Wplay. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Liga Wplay top team - Motilones (8-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Cimarrones (3-8) in Quibdo-Choco 86-63. Motilones forced 21 Cimarrones turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for Dominican power forward Juan Rosario (203-1999, agency: BMS Sport Agency) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. Dominican point guard Jaison Valdez (188-1995, agency: BMS Sport Agency) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Andres Carmona (195-1997) replied with 14 points and 5 assists for Cimarrones. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Motilones have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-1 record. Cimarrones at the other side keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Motilones are looking forward to face Paisas (#4) in Medellin in the next round. Cimarrones will have a break next round.
The game in Manizales was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Piratas (5-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Sabios (1-7). Piratas defeated Sabios 88-75. American guard Eric Crawford (193, college: Maine-Augusta) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Luis Martinez chipped in 17 points during the contest. Piratas' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Jesus Diaz with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Piratas moved-up to third place. Sabios at the other side stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Piratas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sabios will play again at home against Piratas (#3) to get more than just one victory in their record.

The most impressive performance of 6th round was 19 points and 4 steals by Salazar Marlon of Sabios.




Cimarrones - Motilones 63-86

Piratas forced 25 Sabios turnovers and outrebounded them 47-32 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Eric Crawford (193, college: Maine-Augusta) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American-Dominican Luis Martinez (198-1984, college: William Pater.) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Martinez is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Piratas' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Jesus Diaz with 17 points and 9 rebounds and Venezuelan swingman Kevin Nino (195-1991) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds.
