Colombian Liga WPlay round 10 best performance: Benito Santiago (by Hoops Agents)

Benito Santiago (197-SF-1989) had a very impressive game in the last round for Toros Del Valle, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 35-year old player was the main contributor (29 points and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Sabios (#7, 2-16) with 40-point margin 135-95. Toros is placed at 3rd position in Colombian Liga WPlay. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Toros Del Valle will need more victories to improve their 11-7 record. In the team's last game Santiago had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Toros's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of the Cumberlands star has very solid stats this year. Santiago is in league's top in points (9th best: 15.5ppg) and averages impressive 53.8% FGP and 40.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young Venezuelan Kevin Nino (195-F/G-1991) of Sabios de Manizales. Nino had a very good evening with a double-double of 37 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Sabios lost that game 95-135 to the higher-ranked Toros Del Valle (#3, 11-7). Sabios are still at the very bottom. 16 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Sabios managed to get this year. Nino is a newcomer at Sabios, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.8ppg (#2). He also registered 6.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Eric Crawford (193-G) of league's second-best Piratas de Bogota. Crawford scored 24 points. He was a key player of Piratas, leading his team to a 80-75 win against #4 ranked Carrib.Storm in a game of the week. Piratas needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 7 lost games. Crawford has a great season in Colombia. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.9ppg (5th best).
