Kevin Nino claims Colombian Liga Wplay Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced Venezuelan Kevin Nino (195-F/G-1991) had an amazing evening in the last round for Sabios de Manizales and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 33-year old swingman had a double-double of 47 points and 12 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Cimarrones (#5, 8-10) 86-120. Sabios maintains the 7th position in Colombian Liga Wplay. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Sabios have already lost 18 games and recorded just two victories. In the team's last game Nino had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range and got seven three-pointers out of 15 attempts. He turned to be Sabios' top player in his first season with the team. Nino has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 20.5ppg. Nino is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 6.9rpg) and averages solid 53.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Venezuelan center Manuel Canaval (206-C-1993) of Cimarrones del Choco. Canaval impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 12 points and 29 rebounds. Of course he led Cimarrones to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Sabios (#7, 2-18) 120-86. Cimarrones' 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-10 record. Canaval is a newcomer at Cimarrones and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was another Cimarrones' star - American Donoven Carlisle (203-F-1998). Carlisle scored 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Cimarrones del Choco, helping his team with a 114-88 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Sabios (#7, 2-18). The chances of Cimarrones ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Carlisle could help Cimarrones to bring them higher in the standings. Carlisle has a very solid season. In 7 games in Colombia he scored 13.1ppg. He also has 5.9rpg and a FGP of 55.0%.
