Spartans de Distrito Capital Caracas (SPB) landed 33-year old Colombian-Venezuelan international 196cm power forward Luis Almanza for new season. Almanza played recently at Toros Del Valle in Colombian Liga WPlay. In 6 games he averaged 9.3ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.3apg last season.
He also represented Colombia at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla (Colombia) seven years ago. Almanza's team won Silver and his stats at that event were 3 games: 6.7ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.0spg, FGP: 53.3%.
Almanza has played also professionally in Dominican Republic (CDP Domingo Paulino Santiago and Metros) and Venezuela (Cocodrilos, Trotamundos, Gigantes, Rojos and Acereros) and Colombia (Cafeteros, Aguilas, Condores de Cundinamarca, Fast Break and Cimarrones). His team made it to the LPB Clausura Semifinals in 2021 and 2023.
Among many awards he received Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan SLB Most Improved Player of the Year award and was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Colombian LPB Clausura Honorable Mention back in 2021.
