Carrib.Storm inks Matthew Butler, ex Gladiadores

Matthew Butler

Caribbean Storm Islands (LBP) agreed terms with 30-year old American guard Matthew Butler (188cm-84kg-1995, college: UT Martin). He moved there from Gladiadores in Venezuelan SPB league where he started the season, but it seems he will not stay with that team after all. In 15 SPB games just recently he had 9.5ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.9apg.
He is quite experienced player. Butler has played in seven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Argentina (Union de Santa Fe), Mexico (Freseras), Venezuela (Guaiqueries, Gaiteros and Butlerroes), Albania (Vllaznia), Dominican Republic (Soles), Colombia (Cimarrones) and United Arab Emirates (Al Dhafra).
Among many awards he played in the final of Venezuelan SPB in 2024. He was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan SPB Honorable Mention in 2024.
Butler graduated from University of Tennessee at Martin in 2018 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player. He played also for University of Rhode Island for 2 years.
