Piratas (1-1) recorded a loss in Bogota on Friday night. Hosts were edged by Motilones (2-2) 76-74. Motilones made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American Rashon Johnson (197-1999, college: Shippensburg) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. Dominican Bernardo Polanco (189-1994) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Darwin Blanco (188-2003) who recorded 22 points. Piratas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
Important game to mention about took place in San Andres Island. Caimanes (2-0) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging Storm (1-3) 75-72 on Thursday evening. It was a good game for American Desmond Holloway (194-1990, college: Coastal) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Alejandro Grant contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Caimanes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Matthew Butler (188-1995, college: UT Martin) answered with 21 points for Carrib.Storm.

It was a great evening for Darwin Blanco who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. The best for the losing side was Rashon Johnson with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

In the last game of round 3 Caimanes defeated Carrib.Storm in Villavicencio 82-77.



Carrib.Storm - Caimanes 72-75

Important game to mention about took place in San Andres Island. Caimanes (2-0) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging Storm (1-3) 75-72 on Thursday evening. Caimanes dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Storm's 18 and made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American Desmond Holloway (194-1990, college: Coastal) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Panamanian Alejandro Grant (199-1993) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Caimanes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Matthew Butler (188-1995, college: UT Martin) answered with 21 points and Swiss-Argentinian center Juan De La Fuente (195-2000) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Carrib.Storm.

They also forced 24 Motilones turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Darwin Blanco (188-2003) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Point guard Felipe Soler (-1998) helped adding 26 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was American Rashon Johnson (197-1999, college: Shippensburg) with 22 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Jair Jaimes (187-1995) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Carrib.Storm - Caimanes 77-82

There was no surprise in San Andres Island where Storm (1-3) was defeated by Caimanes (2-0) 82-77 on Friday. Caimanes made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Sebastian Valencia (200-1997) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Argentinian guard Alejo Britos (187-1994) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Emmitt Williams (198-1998, college: LSU) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds and Venezuelan point guard Jesus Medina (188-1994) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Storm's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.
