Emmitt Williams claims Colombian LBP Hoops Agents weekly honour

American Emmitt Williams (198-F-1998) put on an amazing game in the last round for Caribbean Storm Islands and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2 (Second Stage).
The 26-year old forward had a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Toros Del Valle (#2, 6-6) 94-91. Storm maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Colombian LBP. Carrib.Storm is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 8th lost game this season out of 13 games. In the team's last game Williams had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Storm, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Louisiana State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Williams is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.7ppg) and averages solid 1.8bpg,62.8% FGP and 46.7% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international forward Yildon Mendoza (206-F-1996) of Group B second-ranked Toros Del Valle. Mendoza impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 17 points and 19 rebounds. Of course Toros cruised to a 90-79 relatively comfortable win over Carrib.Storm (5-8). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Mendoza is one of the most experienced players at Toros Del Valle and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Serbian Darko Balaban (210-C-1989, agency: Helping Ballers) of Cimarrones del Choco (#4). Balaban scored 23 points. Despite Balaban's great performance the Cimarrones lost 62-77 to #1 ranked Caimanes. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Cimarrones not to end season at such low position in Group B, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Balaban could try to bring Cimarrones' a little bit higher in the standings. Balaban has a very solid season. In 2 games in Colombia he scored 15.0ppg.
