Walyn Napper claims Colombian LBP weekly honour

American Walyn Napper (185-PG-2000) had a very impressive game in the last round for Sabios de Manizales and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5 (Second Stage).
The 24-year old playmaker had a double-double of 28 points and 15 rebounds, while his team edged out Piratas (#7, 4-14) 80-76. Sabios is placed at 4th position in Colombian LBP. Sabios is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 8th lost game this season out of 16 games. Napper just recently signed at Sabios, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Longwood College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Napper is in league's top in points (4th best: 19.6ppg) and rebounds (7th best: 7.6rpg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Panamanian Justin Quintero (193-SF-1998) of Piratas de Bogota. Quintero impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Piratas was edged by the higher-ranked Sabios (#4, 8-8) 80-76. Piratas managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Piratas managed to get this Second Stage. Quintero is one of the most experienced players at Piratas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.4ppg (#9). He also registered 5.1 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Piratas' star - Panamanian Aaron Gedeon (203-F-1999). Gedeon scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). Despite Gedeon's great performance the Piratas de Bogota lost 66-80 to the higher-ranked Sabios (#4, 8-8). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Piratas can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-14 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Gedeon has a very solid season. In 18 games in Colombia he scored 10.4ppg.

10. Juan Tello-Palacios (206-F/C-1985) of Paisas - 7 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists
