Franco Morales claims Colombian LPB weekly honour

Experienced Chilean Franco Morales (181-PG-1992) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Toros Del Valle and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8 (Second Stage).
The 32-year old playmaker had the game-high 25 points adding five rebounds and six assists for Toros Del Valle in his team's victory, helping them to beat Carrib.Storm (11-9) 90-76. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Toros maintains the 3rd position in Colombian LPB. Toros Del Valle is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 9th lost game this season out of 20 games. In the team's last game Morales had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He just recently signed at Toros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Franco Morales averages this season 14.5ppg and 4.5apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Markus Terry (188-G-1995) of Cimarrones del Choco. Terry impressed basketball fans with 35 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Cimarrones lost that game 89-99 to slightly lower-ranked Caimanes (#8, 15-5). This loss caused Cimarrones to drop to 6th position in the standings. 16 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Cimarrones managed to get this Second Stage. Terry is one of the most experienced players at Cimarrones and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Cimarrones' star - Serbian Darko Balaban (210-C-1989, agency: Helping Ballers). Balaban scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Balaban's great performance the Cimarrones del Choco lost 89-99 to slightly lower-ranked Caimanes (#8, 15-5). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Cimarrones can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-16 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Balaban has a very solid season. In 9 games in Colombia he scored 13.3ppg. He also has 9.6rpg and a FGP of 55.3%.
