Juan Tello-Palacios' triple-double lands him Player of the Week award

40-year old ESP-COLn power forward Juan Tello-Palacios (206-F/C-1985) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Los Paisas de Medellin and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He recorded a triple-double of 18 points adding also 16 rebounds and 12 assists, while his team outclassed Motilones (#7, 2-10) with 45-point margin 123-78. Paisas maintains the 2nd position in Colombian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Paisas will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. Tello-Palacios turned to be Paisas' top player in his first season with the team. Juan Tello-Palacios averages this season 13.2ppg and 9.0rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Tirrell Brown (198-PF-1993) of Caimanes del Llano. He is American forward in his first season at Caimanes. In the last game Brown recorded an impressive 26 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Caimanes lost that game 80-87 to slightly higher-ranked Sabios (7-5). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Caimanes still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 7-5 record is not bad at all. Brown is a newcomer at Caimanes and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.9ppg (#1). He also registered 6.8 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Paisas' star - forward Soren De Luque (200-PF-1998). De Luque scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was another key player of Los Paisas de Medellin, helping his team with a 123-78 easy win against the lower-ranked Motilones (#7, 2-10). Paisas needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 3 lost games. De Luque has a great season in Colombia. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.2apg (8th best).
