Colombian LBP round 1 best performance: James Montgomery

American Forward James Montgomery (203-F-2001, agency: WP Sports Agency) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Toros Del Valle, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 17 points and 19 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Sabios (#8, 0-2) with 16-point margin 78-62. Toros is placed at 2nd position in Colombian LBP. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Toros won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Montgomery just recently signed at Toros and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Former Barry University star has very solid stats this year. Montgomery leads league in rebounds with 18.0rpg. Montgomery is in league's top in and averages impressive 2.5spg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Marcus Weathers (199-G/F-1997) of league's leader Los Paisas de Medellin. Weathers had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he led Paisas to another comfortable win 75-57 over Carrib.Storm (0-2) being unquestionably team leader. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Weathers is one of the most experienced players at Paisas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Paisas' star - guard David Ojeda (181-PG-2003). Ojeda scored 22 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was another key player of Los Paisas de Medellin, helping his team with a 75-57 easy win against Carrib.Storm (#7, 0-2). Paisas has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Ojeda also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Ojeda has a great season in Colombia. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.0ppg (3rd best).
