Dominican Rep. Swingman Braynt De La Cruz (198-G/F-2002) had a great game in the last round for Sabios de Manizales, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Carrib.Storm (#8, 0-6), the league's bottom-ranked team 96-89. Thanks to this victory Sabios moved-up to the 4th position in Colombian LBP. Sabios is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game De La Cruz had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. The second best player in last round's games was young international center John Hernandez (207-C-1984) of Cimarrones del Choco. Hernandez had a very good evening with a double-double of 29 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Cimarrones was edged by the higher-ranked Caimanes (#2, 4-2) 98-96. Despite lost game Cimarrones moved up to 6th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Hernandez is one of the most experienced players at Cimarrones and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward James Montgomery (203-F-2001, agency: WP Sports Agency) of league's top team Toros Del Valle. Montgomery scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Toros, leading his team to a 84-76 win against the lower-ranked Paisas (#5, 3-3). Toros started extremely well this year. They recorded 6 victories without losing a single game. Montgomery turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Montgomery has a great season in Colombia. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.7rpg (2nd best).
