Duby Okeke claims Colombian LBP weekly honour

Experienced Nigerian-American Duby Okeke (203-C-1994, agency: Interperformances) had a very impressive game in the last round for Cimarrones del Choco and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 31-year old center had a double-double of 12 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Piratas (3-3) 69-55. Cimarrones is placed at 4th position in Colombian LBP. Cimarrones is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. Okeke just recently signed at Cimarrones, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of Nebraska graduate has very impressive stats this year. Okeke is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 10.0rpg) and averages solid 54.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American Rashad Hassan (203-C/F-1989) of second-ranked Caimanes del Llano. Hassan impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for Caimanes to edge slightly higher-ranked Toros (#1, 7-1) by 5 points 73-68. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Caimanes consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 5-3 record is not bad at all. Hassan is one of the most experienced players at Caimanes and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.6ppg (#5). He also registered 7.1 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Panamanian Josimar Ayarza (205-PF-1987) of Motilones del Norte (#7). Ayarza scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Ayarza's great performance the Motilones lost 86-91 to the higher-ranked Paisas (#3, 5-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Motilones can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Ayarza has individually a great season in Colombia. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.0ppg (best scorer).
