International Power forward Santiago Serna (203-F/C-2001) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Piratas de Bogota, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Sabios (#6, 3-5) 94-79. Piratas is placed at 4th position in Colombian LBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Piratas will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. Serna just recently signed at Piratas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Santiago Serna has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 7.4rpg) and averages impressive 57.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Piratas' star - young Panamanian Justin Quintero (193-SF-1998). Quintero had a very good evening with a triple-double of 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Of course together with Serna he helped Piratas de Bogota with another comfortable win 85-71 over slightly lower-ranked Sabios (#6, 3-5) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Piratas to move up to 4th position in the standings. His team's 5-3 record is not bad at all. Quintero is one of the most experienced players at Piratas and similarly like Santiago Serna has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Ty'Lik Evans (173-PG-1996) of Cimarrones del Choco (#3). Evans got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for eight assists. He was a key player of Cimarrones, leading his team to a 90-65 easy win against Carrib.Storm (#8, 0-8). Cimarrones needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Evans has a great season in Colombia. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.9ppg (2nd best) and assists with 4.4apg (5th best). He also has 2.6spg, a FGP of 63.8% and 3PT: 44.9%.
