Another crown for Barva - Oct 16, 2011 Some weeks ago, Ferreteria Brenes Barva won the Costarican Clausura Tournment, becoming for the sixth (!) time in a row the National Champion. The last team to surrender was Escazuu, exactly like in Apertura tournment. This time, 'Los Hechiceros' managed to win the regular season and also won Game 1 of the Final Series, that ended 2-1 for Ferreteria Brenes Barva, winner 59-57 in Game 3 at the end of a very close match. The two finalist teams had defeated in the Clausura Semifinals USJ Arba (Escazu) and Liceo de Costa Rica (Ferreteria Brenes Barva) The first answer to this 'Barva supremacy' came from the Federacin Costarricense de Baloncesto (FECOBA) Council. Some days ago, it decided to abolish the classification of the domestic players in three different categories.
