LBS Round 2 (Second Stage): ARBA lose their first game against Escazu - Aug 8, 2018

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Second Stage in LBS. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of ARBA (1-1) in San Jose on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Escazu (3-0) 74-70. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. American-U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Georgio Milligan (187-90, college: Franklin & Marshall) had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international power forward Rohel Wilson (197-89) chipped in 7 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. The former international forward Amaurys Ripool (196-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. ARBA's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Escazu are looking forward to face U Costa Rica (#4) in the next round. ARBA will play against Grecia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Very important is a home loss of U Costa Rica (0-2) against Grecia (1-2) on Tuesday night. Host U Costa Rica was defeated by Grecia in 84-73. They outrebounded U Costa Rica 77-60 including a 56-42 advantage in defensive rebounds. International Marco Chacon (192-97) notched a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Jerson Harris (196-88) supported him with 13 points and 18 rebounds. Four Grecia players scored in double figures. Grecia's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 29 points and 23 rebounds by international center Juan Vargas did not help to save the game for U Costa Rica. Center Andres Flohr (195-94) added 13 points and 14 rebounds for the hosts. Grecia will play against ARBA in San Jose in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. U Costa Rica will play on the road against Escazu in San Jose to get more than just one victory in their record.
