National League Round 10: Coopenae keeps a leadership position

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Coopenae as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Coopenae defeated 6th ranked San Carlos at home 66-54. Coopenae forced 19 San Carlos turnovers and outrebounded them 61-49 including 47 on the defensive glass. Mariela Matamoros fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Carolina Corrales (-81) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Carolina Quesada produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted San Carlos stay at the bottom place with eight games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in . Sixth ranked Monarca (3-7) saved a 2-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Coopenae (7-2) 80-78 on Saturday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Gabriela Alvarado who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 assists. Shaima James contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international Paula Mora (169-97) replied with 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for Coopenae. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Monarca moved-up to fifth place. Coopenae at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost.

The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santo Domingo have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 5-3 record having just three points less than leader Coopenae. Newly promoted San Carlos stay at the bottom place with eight games lost.
