Gabriela Alvarado claims Costa Rican National League weekly honour

international Gabriela Alvarado had a very impressive game in the last round for Monarca and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The had the game-high 22 points adding four rebounds and seven assists for Monarca in her team's victory, helping them to edge out Coopenae (#1, 7-2) 80-78. Monarca is placed at 5th position in Costa Rican National League. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. The third best performed player last round was another Coopenae's star - Mariela Matamoros. Matamoros scored 19 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Matamoros' great performance Coopenae lost 78-80 to the lower-ranked Monarca (#5, 3-7). But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The last thing Coopenae needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 7 victories and 2 lost games. Matamoros has a great season in Costa Rica. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.3ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 14.0rpg (#1 in league). She also has 1.1bpg and FGP: 53.0%.
