Pelicans needed overtime to beat Escoba in the Final opener. They posted a final 16-9 run in extra time to grab 1-0 lead in the series.
Escoba started better and won the first period 15-13. Moreover, they added a 24-19 run in the second quarter to take a 7-point halftime advantage. Pelicans meanwhile replied with a 21-8 and then 20-16 rallies in the second half and then won the game in overtime.
