Costa Rica stepped onto pedestal at the Central American Championship 2023. They overcame Nicaragua to finish with a 3-2 record on the third place. Costa Rica opened the game with a 25-7 surge and dominated the whole game. Nicaragua managed to score 18 points in each of the the next three quarters, however could not catch up with the opponents.
Daniela Quesada (168-G-1997, college: Salem) was unstoppable with 29 points and Ana Matamoros (190-C-1993) notched 16. Shannen Peralta (F-2003) replied with 19 points in a loss, whilst Madison Sjogreen (1999, college: St.Thomas, FL) had 10.
